BTS Enters a New Chapter in Latin America as Lima Welcomes ARIRANG

After a Record-Breaking North American Tour, BTS Turns Toward Latin America

September 25 marks a new moment for BTS and its global fandom.

After completing an extraordinary North American leg of the BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’, the seven-member group is now preparing for the next chapter of its world tour in Latin America. According to Yonhap News Agency, BTS concluded 31 sold-out concerts across 12 North American cities, drawing approximately 1.92 million spectators over the five-month run.

The final North American shows at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium attracted approximately 282,000 people over four nights, while the concerts were also streamed through Weverse and watched in 177 countries and regions, according to Yonhap.

The scale of the North American tour is significant because it provides a useful measure of where BTS currently stands in global popular culture. This was not simply a successful concert tour. It was a continent-wide series of sold-out stadium events involving nearly two million people.

Now the attention is shifting south.

According to Korea.net, BTS will begin its South American leg in Bogotá on October 2 before traveling to Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires and São Paulo.

For BTS and ARMY, however, the Latin American chapter begins before the first concert.

It begins in Lima on September 25.

“BTS POP-UP: ARIRANG IN LIMA” Opens Today

The BTS POP-UP: ARIRANG IN LIMA officially opens today, September 25, at Casa Prado in Miraflores.

According to the official Weverse announcement, the pop-up will operate from September 25 through October 25, 2026, every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time. The venue is Casa Prado, located at Av. 28 de Julio 878 in Miraflores.

Local media are describing the event as much more than a conventional merchandise store.

El Comercio Perú reports that the space is designed as an immersive experience connected to the visual world of the ARIRANG tour, with interactive activities and thematic elements centered on BTS.

Infobae Perú similarly describes the Lima pop-up as an immersive experience featuring photo areas, official merchandise and an environment inspired by BTS’ world tour.

That distinction matters.

For many ARMY, the attraction is not simply the opportunity to purchase a shirt, album or collectible. The pop-up gives fans a physical space in which the visual identity of ARIRANG can be experienced before BTS arrives on stage.

The ARMY Anticipation Is Already Visible

The level of anticipation became particularly apparent even before the doors opened.

According to Infobae’s September 25 report, the reservation website experienced heavy traffic after reservations opened, with reports circulating on social media that tens of thousands of people were attempting to access the platform.

Importantly, Infobae noted that the widely circulated figure of 60,000 simultaneous users was not officially confirmed, so it should not be treated as an official attendance or traffic figure. What is clear, however, is that the reservation opening generated substantial attention among Peruvian ARMY.

The official rules also show how carefully access has been organized.

The Weverse announcement states that visitors must register and complete identity verification before making an online reservation. Entry is tied to a selected date and time, with the reservation information and QR code available through the user’s account.

This turns the pop-up into something closer to a scheduled fan experience than an ordinary retail visit.

What Are Fans Expecting?

For ARMY, there are several things to look forward to.

1. An Early Experience of the ARIRANG World

The first expectation is immersion.

As El Comercio Perú explains, the pop-up is built around the visual concept of the ARIRANG tour and includes interactive experiences.

For fans who have been following the tour online, this offers something fundamentally different: the opportunity to physically enter the world that BTS has created around its latest era.

2. Exclusive Merchandise and Collectibles

Official merchandise is another major attraction.

Infobae reports that visitors can find official albums, clothing, collectibles, keychains and ARMY Bombs, although certain items may be subject to stock limitations and purchase restrictions.

For ARMY, these objects are more than souvenirs. They become physical reminders of a particular moment in BTS’ global tour.

3. A Meeting Point Before the Concerts

Perhaps the most important expectation is community.

BTS’ three Lima concerts are scheduled for October 7, 9 and 10 at Estadio San Marcos, according to Live Nation Peru and the official Ticketmaster Peru information.

That means the pop-up will operate throughout the period leading into the concerts and will remain open after the first performances.

The space therefore has the potential to become a gathering point for ARMY arriving in Lima from different parts of Peru and from other countries in Latin America.

BTS’ Position: From K-Pop Group to Global Cultural Phenomenon

The enthusiasm surrounding BTS in Lima also needs to be understood in the context of the group’s broader global position.

BTS is no longer operating solely within the traditional boundaries of the K-pop market. The North American numbers demonstrate the scale of its current international reach.

Yonhap reported that all 31 North American concerts sold out and that BTS’ four Los Angeles shows alone attracted approximately 282,000 spectators.

The group has also established a remarkable relationship with stadium audiences. At the Los Angeles concerts, fans sang along to “Body to Body” while waving South Korea’s national flag in a spectacle connected to the Korean folk song “Arirang,” according to Yonhap.

That moment is particularly symbolic.

ARIRANG is simultaneously the name of BTS’ album and world tour and the name of one of Korea’s best-known traditional folk songs. In BTS’ current global journey, Korean cultural imagery is therefore being presented to audiences far beyond Korea.

And Lima is now becoming one of the places where that cultural encounter will take place.

Why Lima Matters

The scale of the Lima concerts also illustrates the importance of the Peruvian market within BTS’ Latin American tour.

Ticketmaster Peru lists an estimated total venue capacity of 52,861 people, including production personnel, suppliers and other attendees, for the Lima shows.

BTS will perform three concerts at Estadio San Marcos, creating several consecutive nights of interaction between the group and Peruvian ARMY.

The official ticket information also includes a Latin America Soundcheck VIP Package, offering benefits such as soundcheck access, early venue entry, exclusive gifts and a dedicated VIP check-in process, according to Ticketmaster Peru.

This is an important distinction when discussing BTS’ “VIP” status.

The documented evidence clearly shows that VIP treatment is part of the concert experience offered to fans who purchase the designated package. At the same time, claims that BTS members themselves are being formally received as state-level VIP guests would require separate official confirmation.

What can be said with confidence is that the scale of the tour, the size of the venues, the commercial infrastructure surrounding the concerts and the intensity of local ARMY activity all demonstrate the extraordinary position BTS occupies in the global entertainment industry.

From Chuseok Rest to the Next Stage

For Korean fans, September 25 also carries another meaning: Chuseok.

After the demanding North American schedule, BTS enters a short period between major tour legs before the South American concerts begin.

The contrast is striking.

While Korea is observing one of its most important traditional holidays, BTS is preparing for another major international chapter — one that begins not with a stadium performance, but with a fan experience in Lima.

The group’s South American schedule officially begins in Bogotá on October 2, followed by Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires and São Paulo, according to Yonhap.

For ARMY, the waiting period is therefore already part of the experience.

The pop-up opens today.

The concerts are coming.

And Lima is preparing to become one of the next major stages in the continuing global story of BTS.

A New Meeting Point Between BTS and Latin American ARMY

What makes BTS POP-UP: ARIRANG IN LIMA interesting is that it sits between two worlds.

It is a retail space, but it is also an exhibition-like experience. It is connected to a global concert tour, but it is designed specifically for local fans. And it brings Korean cultural imagery into a Latin American setting.

For ARMY, the expectation is not simply to buy merchandise.

They are waiting to enter the world of ARIRANG, meet fellow fans, create memories, collect exclusive items and prepare emotionally for the moment BTS finally walks onto the stage at Estadio San Marcos.

After a North American tour that brought BTS before approximately 1.92 million spectators, the next chapter begins in Latin America.

And today, September 25, Lima gets the first glimpse.
